FAMIS is Virginia's program that helps working families provide health insurance to their children. FAMIS stands for Family Access to Medical Insurance Security. FAMIS was created for working families who do not have health insurance.
You pay based on your income and the number of children enrolled in the program.
The monthly fee is $15 for each child enrolled. That's only 50 cents a day.
The highest fee any family pays is $45 per month, which covers three or more children.
Some families may not pay a monthly fee.
