East returns to coaching at Glenvar High School
Mike East is returning to the field with the Highlanders softball team. East, who coached the GHS softball team for two seasons (1999, 2000), has been tapped to replace long-time softball coach Spike Harrison. East is a retired health and PE teacher from Glenvar Middle School.
During his previous coaching seasons at GHS, East took the Lady Highlanders to the state championship game and nearly won.
“I am excited to have Mike East back in the dugout for Glenvar. He is a former Glenvar teacher, a member of our community and very familiar with the expectations of Glenvar Softball. I am confident that he will be successful right out of the gate,” said Glenvar H.S. principal Joe Hafey.
