School Board approves one-time payroll supplement to employees
The Roanoke County School Board has approved a plan to provide a special one-time payroll supplement to all full-time contracted employees equal to four-percent of their annual contract salary. Payroll supplements will be at least $500 and will be capped at $2,500. Contracted and permanent part-time employees will receive a $300 payroll supplement.
“We understand that our teachers have not seen a pay raise in three years and again will not be receiving a pay raise next year. The federal Education Jobs Funding grant provided us with some one-time money to be used for compensation,” said School Board Chairman David Wymer. “This one-time supplement is one way we can express our thanks to all our employees for their hard work through these difficult financial times,” Wymer said.
The one-time payroll supplement will be issued to employees in May.
